New year, new beliefs

While I'm not a fan of creating New Years resolutions because my philosophy is that a new day should be a new you and everyday is a new opportunity to improve yourself, we are on the precipice of 2019 rolling in. Within the past year, I'm sure that many of you have seen incredible changes within yourself. I know I have.

It's been quite an emotionally charged and turbulent year. For every step forward, I took about three steps backwards. When I reflect back on this past year, some of my situations were simply the stars not aligning in my favor and at other moments, they were acts of self-sabotage which is now the provocation for this post.

The times that things hadn't worked out the way that I hoped for, the timing just wasn't right and/or I prevented myself from amassing my own emotional success. The one constant in this was my intuition had told me everything. Whether or not we choose to believe our gut instincts over our minds is our prerogative, but there's a reason that we get certain feelings in the first place.

Celebrate yourself-the good, the bad, the ugly, the beautiful. When you do, you’re ingrained with a whole new belief system which in turn becomes a brand new you.

When we deliberately defy our intuition or just shrug it off as no biggie, we are telling the universe that we don't trust them and more importantly, don't trust ourselves. If we keep listening to the advice of others and allowing others to dictate our lives because we think they know better about our wants and needs than we do, we can't find the meaning of true happiness.

After all, if we can't trust ourselves, how are the things that we want able to come into our lives?

2019 should be about implementing and conquering goals for yourself, but more importantly, following your heart. It's the moments that when we follow our heart's desire when we truly find the happiness that we were once in futile pursuit of.

When we decide once and for all that our happiness is the key to our success, that's when we find it.

Make the new year a time when you finally conquer your fears so that you can start being the person that you aspire to be. Live in your own authenticity so that you can garner the self-confidence to not care what others think of you. Allow yourself to feel each and every emotion instead of denying and repressing them so that you can surrender to your soul.

Master yourself so that you are no longer a slave to yourself. Most importantly, make the new year a year that you will never forget. Stay blessed, be abundant, and stay happy and healthy. Until next time...
